Disable cellular on Apple Watch

⌚ Important note: The Apple Watch does not have its own eSIM. It uses your iPhone's plan via cellular pairing. To "remove" the cellular connection from your Apple Watch, simply disable it or delete the eSIM from the paired iPhone.

Option 1: Disable cellular (temporary)

1

Open the Watch app on iPhone

On your iPhone, open the Watch app.

2

Disable cellular

Tap My Watch > Cellular, then turn off Cellular.

Option 2: Unpair Apple Watch (permanent)

1

In the Watch app on iPhone, tap All Watches.

2

Tap the next to your Apple Watch.

3

Tap Unpair Apple Watch.

⚠️ Important: Unpairing erases all data from your Apple Watch and disables cellular. Only do this if you are selling or giving away your watch.

What happens after deletion?

Immediately

  • The eSIM disappears from your settings
  • You no longer have access to the cellular network of that eSIM
  • Your remaining data is lost (non-refundable)
  • The QR Code and activation link become invalid

If you change your mind

  • ❌ You CANNOT reinstall the same eSIM
  • 💰 You will need to purchase a new eSIM
  • 📧 Contact our support if your plan was still active — we may be able to offer a goodwill gesture

For your security

  • If you're selling your device, remember to also sign out of your Apple/Google account
  • Perform a full factory reset of the device
  • Remove the device from your iCloud/Google account

Alternatives to deletion

💡 Before permanently deleting, consider these options:

⏸️ Temporarily disable

Instead of deleting, simply disable the eSIM in your settings. You can re-enable it later if needed.

🔄 Switching phones

Contact us before deleting. We may be able to help you transfer your active plan to your new phone.

🎁 Keep for later

If your plan has a long expiry date, keep the eSIM installed but disabled for your next trip.
